Lillian Adelia Murphy, 78, beloved wife of Russell E. Murphy of Forestville, departed this world on Friday July 4, 2008, peacefully, serenely, and in the comfort of her own home with family by her side. Lillian was born on August 22, 1929 in Bristol; a daughter of the late Robert and Adelia (Zielke) Eschner.
In addition to her beloved husband with whom she shared a wonderful and strong marriage for 60 years, she is survived by her three children and their spouses, Leslie Coutsouridis and her husband Dean of Middletown, Susan Murphy Provenzano and her husband Chuck of Bristol, and Brian Murphy and his wife Pamela of Bristol; her sister and brother-in-law Martha and Harold Woike of Bristol; her grandchildren, Christopher Coutsouridis and his wife Erica, Alexis Coutsouridis, Angela and Ashley Provenzano, and Cullen and Ryan Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Gerhardt Eschner and her sister, Charlotte Driscoll.
Above all else, Lillian loved and was devoted to her husband and family. She was known by her many dear friends to be kind, giving, and a thoughtful listener. She had an inner strength that was fueled by her strong faith. Her many needlework gifts will be treasured by many.
