Edgar A. Liening, 80, of Breese, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at his home. He was born June 24, 1925 in St. Rose, son of Bernard and Theresa (Rosen) Liening. He married Rita Kniepmann October 29, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in Trenton and she survives in Breese.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel Liening and wife Cindi of Breese, Jo Jean Gonzalez of Chatham, NJ, and Jeff Liening and wife Stacie of Plano, TX; seven grandchildren, Candace Liening, Courtney Liening, Travis Liening, Alex Gonzalez, Hayley Gonzalez, Mackenzie Liening and Parker Liening; two sisters, Elvera Huene of Breese and Anna Deiters and husband Robert of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Liening of Carlyle, Mary Hammer of Trenton, Bea Kniepmann of Highland, Sally & Owen Brendel of Troy, Ann Litteken of Aviston, Pat Kniepmann of St. Louis, MO, Martha Bellm of Highland, Rose & Marvin Sudholt of Breese, Bernadette & Francis Lechner of Trenton and Jane & Stan Niebur of Breese. His parents, two brothers, John Liening & Othmar Liening and six brothers-in-law, Al Hammer, Eddie Kniepmann, Orville Litteken, Joseph Kniepmann, Clinton Bellm and Edward Huene preceded him in death. Mr. Liening was a materials expediter at Base Supply at Scott Air Force Base. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish and American Legion Post 252 in Breese. He enjoyed sports, hunting & fishing, and almost daily driving to his clubhouse.
