“She looked well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed…” (Proverbs 31: 27-28).  Lida Cheatham Ruble Dixon passed away on February 16, 2007 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida at age 92.   Lida was born in Springfield, Kentucky on July 24, 1914 to John Henry Cheatham and Anna Elizabeth Boblett Cheatham.  She was the tenth of eleven children, and was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her first husband, Jay Ruble, and her second husband Dick Dixon.  Lida is survived by her son, Paul Dixon and his wife Patsy, their son Scott and his wife Sara and five children:  Drew, Ben, Claire, Seth and Ellie Dixon.  Lida is also survived by her daughter Janet Eblen and husband Everett, their sons and families:  Dale & Aimee Eblen and their children Alyssa, Collin and Cameron Eblen; Shawn and Denise Eblen and their son Rory James Eblen.  Lida leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.  She loved them all.  Marlene, Diana and Beverly held a special place in her heart.

Lida was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved all children, but especially her grandsons and her great-grandchildren.  It gave her no greater joy than …“knowing her children walked in truth.” (III John 4).  Her family would like to thank Lida’s nurses Jan Noble, Ruth Degallerie, Nell Bethea, and also the nursing staff at the Emerald Coast Rehab Center and the Destin Healthcare Center.
