Lewis “Lew” G. Baltzell, 85, of Anderson, passed away on January 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson.

He was born March 18, 1927 in Mendon, Ohio and resided most of his life in Indianapolis. He graduated from Lincoln Chiropractic College in 1953 and was a well-loved chiropractor on the west side of Indianapolis for 40 years. Lew served his country in the U.S. Army in General Eisenhower’s headquarters in Germany. He was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church in Indianapolis before moving to Anderson and joining the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis for many years.

Lew is survived by son, Gary Janet Baltzell of Fort Wayne and daughter, Diana Mark Bennett of Markleville; grandchildren, Bryan Stefanie Baltzell, Denver, CO; Cara Brandon Maroney, Ft. Wayne; Katie Bennett, Pendleton; and Becky Bennett fiance Jon Maiorana, Macomb, MI. Two great-grandsons also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Heady Baltzell; infant son, Steven Baltzell; parent, Kenneth and Kathryn Miehls; sister, Arlene Burden.
