Lewis H. Runda Jr., 91, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, in his residence at The Springs at Lafayette. He was born on December 11, 1929, in Lafayette to the late Lewis and Loretta (Nelson) Runda. He was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School on June 9, 1949.
After high school he joined the Air Force and was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant on December 21, 1954.
Lewis was a Master Carpenter and woodworker. He enjoyed doing anything with wood or wood projects. Lewis also worked as a carpenter, building and repairing homes until his retirement.
Lewis married Dorothy L. Hines and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2007. They had no children. He had attended White Horse Christian Center before moving to The Springs at Lafayette in 2015.
He is preceded in death by sisters Jeanette Strawsma (husband John), Dorothy Smith (husband Grover), Lewetta Hagg (husband Phil) and a brother Charles Runda (wife Dorothy of Lafayette).
Surviving are his siblings PatriciaThompson (husband Gordon) of Connecticut and Thomas Runda of Florida. The family would like to thank the staff of The Springs at Lafayette for all the wonderful care he received over the last few years.
