Lewis D. Leatherbury, age 65, died Thursday December 3, 2009 at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mount Holly. Mr. Leatherbury was born in Burlington and remained a lifelong resident. He was self employed as a painter and handyman in Burlington. He was a member of the Scully-Bozarth VFW Post 1817 in Burlington. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed shopping.
He was predeceased by his parents Luther and Mildred (nee Gilbert) Leatherbury and his brother Robert Leatherbury. He is survived by his wife Jane (nee Boyle), his brothers and sister Richard Leatherbury, Patricia Viscusi, James Leatherbury and Glen Leatherbury. He is also survived by his uncle Bill Gilbert and many nieces, nephews and friends.
