Levy “Elwood” Burris passed away October 29, 2013, at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 82. Levy was born October 23, 1931, in Doctor’s Inlet, Florida, to Margie and Levy Burris.
Levy was a certified mechanic and spent time in the US Army Active Reserves and as a mechanical instructor in Liberia, West Africa, and in Saudi Arabia; as well as, at one time, owning his own garage.
Levy is survived by: his wife of fifty-two years, Nina, daughters, Lynn and Debbie, son, Levy (Jacque) Burris, Jr., of Silt, step-son, Jerry (Michele) Reece, of Fruita, daughter, Cheryle (George) Delahanty of Palisade, four grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
