Lester T. Walter, Jr., 78, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Tuesday, November 25, 2008.
Lester was born November 12, 1930 in New Buffalo to Ludwig and Kathryn (Brown) Walter. In his youth he worked on a farm before joining the US Army, where he served his country during the Korean War. Lester retired from Gerwin in 1995 after working 40 years as a machinist. He enjoyed fixing anything and will be missed by his friends and family.
Survivors include his children, Brenda (Steve) Ickes and Thomas (Betty) Walter both of Three Oaks; grandson, Nicholas Walter; sister, Shirley (Jack) Stone of New Buffalo; brother-in-law Harry Fleck; and many nieces and nephews. In 2002 his wife of 45 years, Norma (Fleck) Walter preceded him in death.
