Lester Paul Rayner, 99, of Scottsdale, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2015. Les Rayner was born in Chicago, IL on February 24, 1916 to the late Arno P. Rayner and Lucy Brux Rayner. Les graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IL and soon thereafter succeeded his father as President of Rayner Lithographing in Chicago, until he sold the business in 1973. Les married the love of his life Vivian E. Rayner on September 17, 1938 and had two sons Richard Lester Rayner and Robert A. Rayner. Les and Vivian moved to Scottsdale in 1974 and were married for 29 years until her death in 1983. They loved to travel in the US and internationally. Les was an avid collector of antique radios and radio parts. He was a man of strong faith and his memory will leave a lasting impression on the hearts of all who have known him. Les was preceded in death by his parents, both sons, Richard and Robert, and his only sister Virginia M. Werner. He is survived by his son Richard Rayner’s widow, Marion Rayner; two nephews, Arno Werner and James Werner and a niece Susan Zemblowski.
