Lester Eugene Waters was born in Mountain Home, Idaho on October 14, 1932, to parents Rosalie and Lester Waters.
He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for a short time before being drafted into the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington for 2 years during the Korean War. After serving 2 years Lester returned to work for Union Pacific Railroad in Idaho. He married Laura Jean Gates in 1952. They had 5 children together while living in American Falls. He worked as signal maintainer in American Falls for 14 years, then became signal gang supervisor in Weiser from 1974 to 1980. While in Weiser, Lester remarried in 1975 to Lois Roth.
Lester later moved to Nampa to Silvercrest Estates and enjoyed traveling with the R.V group. His many travels took him to all the states, including Alaska 4 times, which he really enjoyed. He also traveled through Canada to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Rosalie Waters; sister, Bonnie Christensen, infant son, Larry; and grandson, Cody Peyman.
His survivors include his sisters, Elma Miles of Nampa, Vera Avery of Lava Hot Springs, and Shirley (Ron) Koester of Idaho Falls; his brother Dale (Linda) Waters of CO; his children, Darwin (Sandra) Waters of Nampa, Dan (Chris) Waters of Valpraiso, IN, Allen (Shannon) Waters of Nampa, Julie (Denny) Peyman of McKee, Kentucky, and Jerry (Anna) Waters of Portland, OR; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who also enjoyed his company.
