Leslie H. Nord, 94, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Michaelsen Health Care Center.

He was born July 18, 1928, in St. Charles, the son of Harry and Florence Nord.

Leslie grew up in St. Charles and often regaled his children and grandchildren with stories of his childhood escapades. He proudly served in the United States Navy and spoke fondly of his time spent serving in Hawaii. He was a graduate of Aurora College, where he met Nettie Jane, who would later become his wife of 65 years.

They moved to Ann Arbor so Leslie could attend business school at the University of Michigan. While there, he became an avid Michigan fan, often traveling the country to see his beloved Wolverines play football.

He enjoyed a long career in Industrial Relations and Human Resources. He truly loved meeting and talking with the variety of people he met through his work.

Leslie enjoyed travel and did so often throughout his life, San Francisco was his favorite city. He loved New Orleans jazz. Leslie was a history buff, remembering unique facts of all kinds, specifically of the Fox Valley. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nettie.

He is survived by his children Eric (Lovelle) Nord of Dallas, Texas; Lisa (Mark) Seplak of Hinsdale; Cynthia Nord of Temple, Texas; and grandchildren Hayley Price of Dallas, Texas; Ian (Zoe) Nord of McKinney, Texas; Victoria Nord of Dallas, Texas and Brad Seplak of Santa Monica, California.
