LEROY P. POPYK age 61, of Cedar Lake, passed away Friday April 4, 2014. LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Sandra nee Tuttle; children Michele (Doolie Wyatt) Popyk & Dan (Debbie) Popyk; grandchildren: Tabatha Hawkins, Brianna Popyk, Alison Popyk & Riley Blankenship; mother Marian Popyk; siblings: John (Shirley) Popyk, Elaine (late Nick) Stamate & Diana (Paul) Douglas; mother in law Joan Tuttle; beloved dog Reba; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by his father John Popyk & father in law Russell Tuttle.
LeRoy was an Advanced Master Gardener and was currently employed at Waters Edge Aquascaping where he especially enjoyed installing ponds. He was past president of St. Michael Church and a former Hill Climber. LeRoy loved the outdoors and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church 7035 Columbia Ave Hammond with Fr Raymond Sundland officiating. LeRoy will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service. At rest Lowell Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday April 8, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville. Panchida 7:00 PM.
