LeRoy Daryle Rausch, 64, of Jacksonville and formerly of Meredosia, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 8, 2015. LeRoy was born on January 11, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Albert and Opal Bunch Rausch. He married his soul mate, Brenda Parker Irvin on July 17, 1991, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by their daughters, Laurie (husband Darryl) Buhlig, Cambrea (husband Brady ) Brackett, Amber (companion Steve Helmig) Rausch, Juli (companion J. R. Moss) Haubold, and Apryl (husband Barry) Edwards; seven grandchildren, Lauren Buhlig, Skyler Beal, Rachel Buhlig, Isabel Haubold, Ayden DeWitt, Paige Brackett, and Lily Haubold; his brother, Bobby Rausch, who raised LeRoy from childhood alongside his own children, Ken Rausch and Kim Rausch Ruyle; his sisters, Nancy Rankin and Marjorie (husband Jack) Morrell; and several nieces and nephews.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his mother and father two brothers, Teddy Rausch and Albert Rausch; and a sister Doris Ransom.

LeRoy graduated from Meredosia High School in 1970 as well as Gem City College before enlisting in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was assigned to the Military Police where he became a dog trainer and handler. As a veteran, LeRoy was avidly involved with the American Legion Post 576 of Meredosia and the American Legion Post 279 in Jacksonville. He retired in 2007 as a General Forman of the Boilermaker’s Local 363 but remained a General Consultant.

LeRoy was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He would enjoy “the ride” on his second love any time he was able. Among his other passions was tinkering with all kinds of projects. He was always available to help family and friends.

LeRoy’s devotion to his family was his biggest passion. Time spent with his loving wife, beautiful daughters, and his amusing, entertaining grandchildren was his priority. He was their beloved pa-pa.
