He was born on November 7, 1955 in Tiffin, Ohio to Lewis and Lorene (Keller) Kimmet. He married Korene (Dayton) Kimmet in October 1976 and they later divorced. He then married Loretta (Corfman) Kimmet on June 28, 2003 and she survives.
Surviving are the following children, Wendy (Daniel) Cahill, Tiffin, Ohio, Justin (Anna) Kimmet, Tiffin, Ohio and Betsy (Nicholas) Shanks, Tiffin, Ohio. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Paige Warnock, Cayelee Cahill, Eric Warnock, Kennedy Cahill, Zoe Spurlock and Lainey Kimmet, two brothers, Lewis (Di Ann) Kimmet, Green Springs, Ohio, Larry Michaels, Fostoria, Ohio, two sisters, Ruth (Richard) Michaels Downs, rural Tiffin, Ohio and Barbara (Louis) Michaels Borer, Tiffin, Ohio.
He had worked for twenty-three years at ExCell Wire, Tiffin, Ohio and nineteen years at Kasai North America, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a 1975 graduate of Columbian High School and for hobbies he loved going to all kinds of car shows.
