Leone Saunders Price, 92, of Oakdale Street, Martinsville, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center. She was born in Pittsylvania County on March 25, 1918, to Cora Simmons Saunders and Robert E. Saunders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve Saunders, Nyra Matthews and Eloise Mandrachia; and five brothers, Dewey E. Saunders, Perry G. Saunders, Woodell Saunders, James O. Saunders and Robert E. Saunders Jr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martinsville and was a longtime member of the church choir. Surviving are her husband of 74 years, William D. Price Sr. of the home; a daughter, Sondra Price Wade of Florida; two sons, William D. Price Jr. of Martinsville and W. Jackson Price II of Patrick Springs; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
