Leonard R. Smolarkiewicz, age 66 of Beaverton, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Mid Michigan Medical Center. The son of the late Raymond and Stephanie (Lalko) Smolarkiewicz was born August 15, 1953 in Wyandotte, MI. Leonard truly loved his career as a truck driver, taking him all over the country. When not driving truck, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and watching motorsports.
Leonard was a devoted husband to his wife of 46 years, the former Karen L. Kilbourn, of whom he married November 17, 1973 in Cass City. Together they raised their daughter, Suzanne (Will) Potts of Sanford. In addition to his family, Leonard is survived by his many true and dear friends and neighbors.
The world lost an amazing man. No more pain or suffering. Just comfort and love. You leave us with treasured memories no one can take away. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not. Rest easy until we see each other again.
Per Leonard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 16, 2019 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. His family and friends will officiate.
