Leonard B. LaRocco, 87 of Toms River died Friday April 11, 2014 at Bey Lea Village Nursing Home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Piscataway for 30 years before moving to Toms River then to South Carolina and Florida before moving back to Toms River 3 years ago. Mr. LaRocco was a technician for RCA in Manhattan and Piscataway for forty years before retiring in 1986. He served in the United States Coast Guard. He was also a member of the Elks in Piscataway, and the Holy Name Society at St. Francis Parish in Piscataway. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
He also enjoyed fishing and dancing and travelling. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Riggio LaRocco and two sons Leonard and Stephen LaRocco and nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are three daughters Mary Ackermann, Middletown, DE, Leonarda White, Manchester, NJ and JoAnn Strollo of Oakhurst, NJ, his sister Josephine Cucci of Long Island, NY ; nine grandchildren, Stephen, Jenna, Michael, Matthew and Mark, Kristin, Lauren, Paul and Marc, and three great grandchildren Laila, Nino and Emma and his companion Mickey Melocco.
