Those left to honor L.D.’s memory are his wife, Ruth; son, Todd (Deborah) Rose; two daughters, Vanessa Davis and Melissa Rose, all of Newton; his five grandchildren, Mitchell Davis (Tracy Evans) of Newton, Meagan Davis (Eric Hollander)of Des Moines, Iowa, Jorgen, Brian and Lane Rose, all of Newton; two sisters, Jean (Louie) O’Brien of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Marie Davison of Humeston, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marlene Rose of Newton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustus D. and Freda (Tolly) Rose; two brothers, Clifford D. Rose and Robert D. Rose; sister, Gladys Marr.

L.D. was a graduate of Mormon Trail High School in Garden Grove, Iowa. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

L.D. worked 21 years for the Maytag Company; he retired in 1994 as a Department Manager.

L.D. was a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. L.D. enjoyed hunting, fishing, being out on the farm, baseball, football, golfing and bowling.
