Leonard A. Wilkins, age 90 of Midland died at Tender Care of Midland on Friday, October 1, 2010. The son of the late Michael and Anna (Ratkos) Wilkins was born on May 2, 1920, in Detroit where he was raised and educated moving to Pinconning. On October 7, 1944, he married Mary Gerhardt in Pinconning. Leonard served in the Army Airforce from 1941 to 1945, being stationed in Brisbane, Australia, and Queensland, New Guinea. He was employed by the Dow Chemical Co with 32 years of service, retiring in 1977. Leonard was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #165. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, and his children; Paula (Ted) Smith of Higgins Lake, Mark (Lexie) Wilkins of Edenville, and Ann Wilkins of Sterling Heights. Grandchildren are Michael (Amy) Smith, Laura (Scott) Atton, Chad (Amy) Wilkins, Heather (Joe) Rinas, Chris (Tonya) Hoppe, Emily Lester, and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norbert Wilcznski and his friend Shirley and sisters: Eleanor (Delores) Drouin, Martha Brown, and sister-in-law Helena Szymczak with many nieces and nephews.
