Leonard Alfred Postage, 87, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on
Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Highland’s Lake Center. Leonard was born
on October 14, 1927, in Farrell, Pennsylvania to Melius “Mitch” and
Mildred Postage. Leonard was a retired Plant Foreman for U.S. Steel
and member of St.
All his life Leonard was actively involved with all things
aviation-related, dedicating himself to the sport of model aviation (AMA
4530) to owning and piloting full-sized aircraft, his last plane being a
G35 Bonanza. He also enjoyed the hobby of Ham Radio to the extent of
building his own antenna. In younger years he was a stock car racer,
served in the Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and Navyand even played a
little semi-pro football. Leonard was also very involved in Volunteer
work with the Civil Air Patrol, Sun-n-Fun Fly in, creating Model
Airplane Clubs as well as donating his woodworking abilities to
