Leona S. Albano, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:32 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Hamilton Grove. Leona was born on November 11, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to Clarence T. and Josephine (Czeck) Simonis. She retired from the Bendix Corporation in June 1992, where she had been employed as a secretary for 30 years. She had also been employed as a secretary at Studebaker for 4 years. Leona married Michael J. Albano in 1965, they have three daughters who survive. Gina (Wade) Brown of Elkhart, Indiana, Julie (Dee Nicholas) Albano and Bonnie (Thomas) Douglas both of South Bend, Indiana: seven grandchildren, Rachel, Tommy, Tiffany, Devin, Chelsea, and Chad Douglas and Joshua Suth; two step-grandchildren, Kayla and Cory Brown; and two step great-grandchildren, Gracie McManemin and Ian Brown; and her sister, Gertrude Miller of Fairhope, Alabama. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Albano; her sister, Esther (Roger) Beke; her brother, Norbert (Pat) Simonis; and her brother-in-law, James Miller.
