Leon Sherman, 83, of Toms River, NJ passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Bronx, NY, he lived in Jackson, NJ before moving to Toms River 20 years ago. Leon was a Sales Representative for United Vision Care Buying Service, Tallahassee, FL for 20 years then worked in Sales at Lowes in Brick for 10 years.
He was a US Army Korean War Veteran, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Leon is survived by his wife of 15 years Janet (nee Van Blarcom), 3 children Scott Sherman of Freehold, NJ, Vicki Myckowiak of Detroit, Michigan and Stacey Fisk of Jackson, NJ; 2 step children Christina Hall of Toms River and Scott Cougle of Howell, NJ; 2 sisters Edyth Hurant of Hackensack, NJ and Judith Wertheim of New York; 8 grandchildren Alexi & Paige Fisk, Daniel & David Myckowiak, Tori Sherman, Mark Loeser, Gavin Cougle and Abigail Hall.
