Leon Sudol, 89, of the Holiday City West section of Berkeley Twsp. passed away on Friday April 3, 2015 at the Arbors Care Center, Manchester, NJ. Leon was born in Garfield, NJ to Walter and Julia Sudol; Leon resided in Clifton, NJ for over fifty years before moving to Holiday City West in 1996. He was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post of Clifton. He served as Technician Fourth Grade 489th Amphibian Company during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
Leon worked for the Department of Public W orks in Clifton as a heavy equipment operator. He volunteered working Bingo at the Holiday City West Club house. He enjoyed playing Bocce and Shuffle Board and also going to Atlantic City. Predeceased by his parents, his brother’s John and Joseph and his sister Frances Salek. He is survived by his wife Helen and his daughter Maryanne Howard and her husband Larry of Fort Meyer’s Fla, three grandsons Michael Patire and his wife Gina, James Patire and Jonathan Patire and his wife Heather, six grandchildren, Alexis, Autumn, Madelyn, Caroline, Giovanni and Jack.
