Leola Jean Larson Morrison, 91, Huntsville, Alabama passed peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her large and loving family during her last days. Jean was born on January 12, 1931 in Big Piney, Wyoming to William E. and Leola Coffee Sherman. She graduated from high school in Mobridge, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis R Larson and Earl “Jerry” Morrison, her parents, and her sister, Phyllis DeSart. She is survived by her five children, Lynn Larson (Juliana), Gregory Larson (Donna), Timothy Larson (Ingrid), Holly Larson Carr (Andy), and Jill Larson VanHooser (Rick), a sister, Patricia Haffeman, a brother, William F. Sherman (Patsy), grandchildren; Seth Larson (Marie), Claire Larson Abernathy (Josh), Brooke Weckwarth Tolen (Tim), and Austin Weckwarth (Madeline), great grandchildren, Rowan Weckwarth, Aiden and Luna Toland. Jean enjoyed a fulfilling career with the U.S. Army Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal and made many lasting workplace friendships. As a mother of five, she championed her children’s successes and was always a compassionate, understanding counselor. Many a time there was a new face at her dinner table, but always a welcomed guest. She will always be remembered as a gentle, loving mother and lasting friend. One of her favorite Wyoming memories, camping at her family’s favorite hot springs in the high country. You will forever be missed and loved in our hearts.
