Leokadia Zajac, 77, of Plainville, formerly of New Britain, the loving wife of Kazimierz Zajac, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in Poland, she moved to America where she raised her family. Leokadia was a long-time member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain and a supporter of many church programs and functions to raise money for the church or school. She was proud of her faith as well as her Polish heritage and placed great importance on upholding Polish traditions with her family. She loved to cook and take care of her grandchildren, and was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband, Kazimierz, she leaves her sons, Robert Zajac of Brooklyn, NY, Mark Zajac of Lancaster, NH; her grandchildren, Adriana Zajac and Angelina and Mark Zajac, Jr.; her sister Emilia Walewski of New Britain; her nephew Val Stehowski and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Europe. She was pre-deceased by several brothers and sisters.
