Colonie – Leo F. O’Connor, 93, of Lockrow Boulevard died suddenly Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at his residence.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late George O’Connor and Mary  Vaughan O’Connor and husband for 63 years of the late Dorothy Anne Ostrander O’Connor. He was raised in Troy and resided in Colonie for 60 years and was a 1942 graduate of Catholic Central High School and 1950 graduate of Siena College. 

Mr. O’Connor was employed at the New York State Department of Transportation as the Supervisor of Transportation Purchase, retiring in 1984.  

He was a member of the Third Army, World War II veteran and was awarded four battle stars for the war throughout Europe. 

His loving family includes his sons, Leo F. (Paula) O’Connor, Jr., Rexford, Sean M. (Margaret) O’Connor, Maine, Steven G. (Rose Anne) O’Connor, Troy and James J. (Deborah) O’Connor, Hannacroix; a daughter, Susan M. (Joseph) Marcy, Greenwich; his grandchildren, Sarah A. Loya and Justin, Ryan, Matthew and Kaitlin O’Connor and three great grandchildren, Colin and Lucas Loya and Dillon O’Connor.  Also, his very close first cousin, Rev. James J. Vaughan. 

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and love to Leo’s dear friend, Mary Darian, who shared his life for the last two years.  She was a devoted, caring and loving companion to him. Mary, we thank you for bringing happiness and fun into his life.
