Leo Charles Swiatkowski, age 18, passed away on November 24, 2021.

Family came first for Leo. His parents, Craig and Sara (née Lewandowski), could always count on him to be there, whether that meant playing video games with his brother Will, having a dance party with his sister Lula, or taking their dog Coco for a long walk along the lake.

Leo loved like no one else. He saw you. He loved deeply, fully, and totally. He loved you whether he’d known you his whole life or he’d just met you. Leo gave the best hugs and everyone who was lucky enough to receive one of his hugs vividly remembers it.

In addition to his parents and siblings, Leo is remembered by his grandparents, Bob and Lisa Lewandowski, his uncles, Sean (Jodi) Swiatkowski and Eric (Megan McKeon) Lewandowski, his dear cousins Evan, Jordan, Emily, Hailey, Leon, and Isa, and his girlfriend, Ava. Leo’s grandparents, Leon “Red” and Kathy Swiatkowski, preceded him in death. He will be missed by his many, many, many friends from his neighborhood, James G. Blaine Elementary School, Lakeview High School, GCE Lab School, River Dogs Hockey, Lane Tech Hockey, and about a million other activities that he engaged in with the enthusiasm he brought to every day.

His last act was to donate his organs to help others. He changed the lives of six people—those people, like everyone Leo touched, are recipients of the love Leo created.

Leo’s legacy is one of friendship, fun, thoughtfulness, and, most importantly, love.
