Leo C. Kwasneski, 86, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Hamilton Grove in New Carlisle, IN. He was born on March 7, 1928 to the late Leo and Lottie Kwasneski in South Bend, IN. He was also preceded in death by his brother Dan Kwasneski, daughter Elizabeth Mroczkiewicz, and brother and sister-in law Robert and Margaret Hillebrand. Leo is survived by his wife of 62 years Betty, son Michael (Kim) Kwasneski of Pt. St. Lucie, Fl, daughter Michele (Richard) Ennis of Rockledge, Fl, son-in-law Thomas Mroczkiewicz of South Bend, IN and grandchildren Tara, Eric and Sara, along with several nieces and nephews. Leo graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Following his retirement after 20 years with the South Bend Police Department in 1970, he spent 13 years as Branch Manager for Brinks, Inc. Leo was a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Police #36. He was a faithful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
