Bishop Lennon Prezelle English was born to Mamie and Joe Louis English on June 30, 1953 in Loxley, Alabama. He confessed Christ in Anchorage, Alaska under the leadership of Bishop Williams and relocated to New York City. He later on moved to Flint, Michigan under the leadership of Superintendent Jackson where he served faithfully in the church. He worked diligently in various capacities glorifying the Lord. While being active in the church he was called into the ministry. He founded and pastored several churches in Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. He was the General of Evangelism.
He was the epitome of a hardworking and faithful man of God. He had a resume that excelled various qualities. Bishop was a barber, carpenter, professional painter and car detailer. He built pews, worked on the shipyards and underground tunnel construction, picked cotton, and performed karate and judo. He was employed by General Motors and was a welder by trade. The list of his work experience goes on and on but most importantly he was a fisherman of men.
Lennon was a man who enjoyed his family, going fishing, traveling and hunting. He took delight in watching karate, western, and boxing movies. Growing up as a child he wore tailor-made clothes. He loved to dress, look nice, and detail his car.
Bishop loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, and soul. Winning souls was his gift and ultimate goal.
Bishop English leaves to cherish his precious forever memories as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and pastor. He leaves his loving wife in which he called her, Precious, who stood by his side until his last breath, Dy’Anna English. Len’Dell (Tahara: Le’Niyah, Lei’Anah, Lun’Dynn) Dy’Lean (Eddie: bundle of joy); Lennon (Brianna, Lennon, Brittani, Brennon); Lennon (Kijani, Belai); Lewis (Shampayn, Victoria, Anthony); Latoya (IAVA); and innumerable spiritual children. Sisters: Angela, Chandra, Karen. Brothers: Joseph (Eleanor), Clifford (Mattie), Lucious, Kenneth, Roger. Aunts: Annie Pearl and Odessa. Sister-in-laws: Valarie and Marlene (MI); Brother-in-law: Reverend Douglas (AL). A sweet mother-in-law: Earlean (AL). A step-mother: Ruth. He will be truly missed by a very special host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Pastors, friends and god-children (Nathaniel Prezelle).
He was preceded in death by his parents Mamie and Joe Louis; Grandparents: Lucious and Maggie, Queen Eliza and King Phelon; Sisters; Jo-Ann and Jeanie; Uncles: Cleo and Prezelle.
