She was an active member of the East Lynn Christian Church and served in Many positions there. She was a member of the diaconate and was an Elder several times. She dearly loved that church and the congregation there. She and her Sunday School Class had a puppet ministry for several years and put on shows throughout the county in the late 70’s and early 80’s. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She attended the Keystone Sunday School Class.

She was a charter member of the Madison County Dramatic Players and worked with them for ten years. She also taught beginning signing at Liberty Christian School a year. She was on call at St. John’s Hospital for several years and spent many times with the Social Security System with deaf clients at no charge. She and a friend of hers tutored one year at the Deaf School in Indianapolis. She had lots of wonderful deaf friends. She was a volunteer at Liberty Christian School for many years. She was deeply involved with the school and believed in its teaching. Her great grandson attended there for 13 years. She was an avid quilter and has made many many quilts for her friends and relatives. For several years, she gave away a quilt at her family Johnson reunion and also had a quilt ready for her P.I.P. at Liberty Christian School. This was a labor of love. She loved to preserve meats and vegetables and gave a lot of that away to deserving persons. At one time, she raised calves for neighboring farmers and fed them with milk from her favorite Jersey Cow which she milked with joy.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gene Bauer; and her wonderful daughter, Maxine Cook-Williams husband Paul. She had adopted a grandson, Kenneth L. Cook Sr., wife Doris from Royal, Arkansas.
