Chaplain Dr. Lemuel M. Boyles (retired Colonel, United States Air Force), 82, minister of 64 years and mentor and friend to many around the world, passed away January 27, 2017.
Lem was best known for his 28 years as an Air Force chaplain, for his devotion to growing the military chaplaincy, as New Mexico’s Bishop for the Pentecostal Church of God, as a senior’s pastor for the Legacy Church of Albuquerque and as an author, husband and father. Driven by his strong Christian faith and unstoppable energy, Lem charged through life guided by his favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” His many accomplishments and wide-ranging impacts were a direct result of his belief that nothing is impossible when strengthened by Christ. Lem now reaps the promises of Our Lord, sitting in the company of saints and watching over us.
He is survived by his wife, Aggie Boyles, of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Robert and Shellie Boyles of Mesquite, NV, Laurie and Thomas Humphrey of Cache, OK, Gregory Boyles of Albuquerque, NM and Todd and Georgia Boyles of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also touching Lem’s life were his nephew and niece, Bradley and Kimberly Richardson, of Mountian View, CA and Cerise Daniels of Medford, OR. Lem was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Faye Boyles, of Albuquerque, NM and his sister, Dorothy Kirk, of Medford, OR.
