Those left to honor Lela’s memory include her daughter, Sandra (Richard) Goodman of Baxter; five granddaughters: Jan (Gary) Chamberlain of Newton, Jill (Carroll) Simbro of Newton, Jody (Jeff) Meyers of Ames, Julie (Doug) Montrose of Naperville, Illinois, and Joyce (Greg) Christianson of Baxter; thirteen great-grandchildren: Kristopher (Tonia), Rachel, Brian (Tracy), Brenda, Sam, Madalyn, Alyssa, Haley, Ashley, Matthew, Zac (Felicia), Courtney, and Cody; and seven great-great-grandchildren: Devin, Danika, Allison, Curran, Ryan, Sierra, and Nieva.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Everna (Walker) Frizzell; husband, Austin; her eight brothers and sisters; and her special friend, Ken Bettis.

Lela had lived in Baxter for over 70 years. She had taught country school, and had worked as a clerk at the Baxter Sale Barn for several years.

Lela loved to dance, travel, and enjoyed many family trips to Branson. She had a large collection of cardinals and was known for her popcorn balls, which she handed out to trick-or-treaters.
