LeIla Kay (Junker) Niederklein, 79 years of age, of Daykin passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Jefferson Community Health and Life in Fairbury. She was born on August 21, 1938 in Fairbury to Henry and Maudie (Showalter) Junker. LeIla graduated from Reynolds High School in 1956. She married Wendell Niederklein in the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury on December 21, 1958. LeIla did all the bookwork for Niederklein Construction Company which was her husband Wendell’s company. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Daykin and the Eagles Auxiliary. LeIla enjoyed polka dancing with Wendell, collecting bears and camping.

LeIla is survived by her brother, Marvin Junker and wife Delores of Woodward, Oklahoma; sisters, Janis Kenning of Fairbury, LaRue Adams of Medicine Bow, Wyoming; sister-in-law, Marlene Cecrle and husband Duane of Milligan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Wendell on May 31, 2013.
