LeeRoy Carl Jennings passed away peacefully at a local care center facility on August 8, 2019. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday and is now celebrating with family and friends, who preceded him into Heaven.
Roy was born in Jerome, Idaho on May 15, 1929 to James F. and Mable M. (Stanhope) Jennings. He spent his childhood in various places in Idaho and graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1947. After high school he worked several jobs including some work on the McNary Dam in Washington. He then moved to Seattle, Washington and joined the Test Flight Crew for Boeing. It was while he was there that me met and married Winifred Rose (Welch) Jennings and they had 60 beautiful years together.
He became and insurance adjustor for Franklin Life and they moved to Pendleton, Oregon and then to Portland. In 1970 they moved to Eugene, Oregon where they raised their two daughters. Roy joined the school district as a part of the janitorial staff and had his own upholstery business.
He retired in 1990 and moved to Nampa to be with children and grandchildren. During his retirement years Roy was involved with LOVE INC and drove bus for Treasure Valley Transit. In more recent years he was very involved with woodworking and created many beautiful pieces to share with family and friends.
Roy is survived by his wife, Winifred Jennings; 2 daughters, Taunia (Tim) Barr, Nyssa, OR and Heather Stier, Nampa; 5 grandchildren, Krystal (Robert) Waltman, Ashley (Daniel) Clum, Aaron Barr, Michaela (Joshua) Trojanovich and Robert Krumplitsch, currently serving in the US Air Force in Guam; 4 great grandchildren, Ayden Waltman, Kamdyn Waltman, Alexys Waltman and Kaycee Clum; a brother, Marvin (Janice) Jennings and a number of nieces and nephews.
