He is survived by his parents, Dillard and Jewel Ames of New Market; his sister, Janice Ames Brown of Fayetteville; his brothers, Randy Ames of Fayetteville and Jeffery Ames of New Market; several nieces and nephews and his close friend, Helen Moodockus.
