Lawrence Peter Benlein, 79 of Toms River died peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer on Monday, June 25, 2018.
Lawrence was born to the late Frederick and Mary Benlein on November 3, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York.
Lawrence proudly served in the US Army and later retired after 31 years as an auditor from the Port Authority of NY and NJ. He enjoyed going to Atlantic City, bowling, out for dinners and his “Favorite” place for horse racing. He was a devoted father and loving husband. Lawrence will be missed by all who knew him.
Lawrence is predeceased by his parents and brother, Richard Benlein.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Calderaro Benlein; sons, Fred Benlein and his wife Kathy of Long Island; George Delaney and his wife Dawn of Brick; daughter, Patty Delaney of Toms River; sister, Maureen Coletti and her husband Frank of Long Island; granddaughters, Cali, Paige, Tessa and many nieces, nephews and loving extended family.
