Lawrence “Larry” Delaney age 65 passed away peacefully at home Thursday, November 24th with his wife and son at his bedside. Born in Jersey City, Larry grew up in Englewood before settling in New Milford in 1983. He attended Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood and St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. Larry was a Sales Representative specializing in Industrial Chemicals and the owner of Danielson Supply since 1988. An avid Jeopardy and PBS News Hour fan, he obtained his US Coast Guard Master Captain’s License in 2013. Larry was the proud Captain of a 30 foot Catalina Sailboat for 25 years. His passions were not limited to sailing, he played the piano and guitar, traveled the world, and was an avid fan of the New York sports teams. Larry could do and fix anything around the house and was loved as the neighborhood Dad to his son Dan’s friends.
He was the beloved husband of Mindy (nee Schecterman) Delaney for 31 years and the proud father of Daniel Delaney. Larry was the loving brother of Beverly Schmidhamer, Margaret Willer, Edna Delaney, and Damian Delaney. He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel and Denis Delaney. Larry was the brother in law of Lisa Goluboff and Marc Schecterman. He was also survived by his nieces and nephews; Daniel, Beverly, Maxine, Dara, Cheryl, Dawn, Jimmy, and Jacqueline.
