Lawrence L. Contois, 92, husband of the late Mary T. (Norton) Contois, a long time resident of Danvers, MA., died peacefully on February 23, 2017 in Beverly Hospital. Born in Lebanon, NH on January 18, 1925, completed high school in Lebanon NH., and he served in the Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged, he attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He married Mary T. Norton of Stoneham MA. on June 28, 1947. He later earned his MBA from Northeastern University as well as a certificate in Professional Engineering. Larry was employed by General Electric’s turbine business for 35 years and held several roles including Superintendent of the Gear Plant and Producibility Engineering Manager before retiring in 1986. As an active member of the Danvers community since 1968, Larry was a former town meeting member in the 1980’s and an active member of St. Richard Parish.
