Lawrence Beemsterboer, 89, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Thursday night, December 4, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Michigan. Larry was born on January 22, 1925 in Chicago to Louis and Lillian (Halm) Beemsterboer. He served his country in the US Army as a MP during WWII, stationed in Italy. He was an automobile enthusiast who could identify a car not only by its appearance, but by its sound alone. He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500 and Notre Dame sports.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 in Chicago and retired from the Chicago Transit Authority. His wife Louise preceded him in death in 1994. Larry married Patricia Hoffman in 1998 and in 2003 they moved from Chicago to make their home in Three Oaks.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; children Diane (Joe) DeMaria of Iowa; Edyth (John) Leone of Illinois and Richard (Janice) Beemsterboer of Illinois; step children, Robert (Jacquelen) Hoffman, Therese (Michael) Karnowski and Christine (George) Skirha all of Illinois; grandson, Matthew Leone; and step grandchildren Daniel, Douglas (Karen), David (Elizabeth), Matthew, Katie (Michael), Carolyn, Cole, Code, Jordan, Logan, and Kendall; great grandchildren, Aiden, Matthew, Megan, Brady, Zoe and Jacob and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, and brother Roland.
