Faye Laverne Russell, age 86, of Green Forest, AR passed away July 22, 2011. She was born in Hamlin, TX on April 6, 1925, daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Newsom) Palmer. She graduated from Roby High School and in 1950 she married Marvin Claude Russell. They moved to AR over 55 years ago and settled in Carroll County. Before her retirement Laverne was employed for 28 years as office manager at Tysons of Green Forest. She was a member of the VA Auxiliary. She loved to make quilts and give them to her family and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Laverne is survived by her daughter, Sharon Manan Green of Roby, TX, son, Gerald (Jerry) Russell of Springfield, MO, grandchildren; Lance and Rodney Green of Roby, TX, Jeremy Russell of Springfield, Mo and Shauna Belcher of Sheridan, WY, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters; Wanda Horton and Barbara Rasco both of Roby, TX and one brother, John Wayne Palmer of Midland, TX and care giver nephew, Lyle Palmer of Green Forest. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Russell, brother, Jim Palmer, sister, Glenda Field, grandson, Kevin Russell, son-in-law, Ronnie Green, daughter-in-law, Debbie Russell and nephew, Shanon Rasco.
