LaVerne Martha Rupel, 84, of Springfield, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Heritage Manor in Springfield.
She was born December 10, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of Fred L., Sr. and Martha Cervinka Rupel.
She is survived by one brother, Allan J. Rupel of Springfield; and several nieces and great nieces and nephews and great nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Fred L., Jr. (surviving wife, Lee of St. Louis, MO.).
Ms. Rupel was a 1941 graduate of Illinois School for Visually Impaired and a 1945 graduate of Illinois College. She attained a postgraduate education from Hunter College in New York. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist and Order of the Eastern Star.
