Laura Marie Frattaroli, 31, of Newtown, CT passed away on October 31, 2022. Laura has left an indelible mark in the lives of her family that cherished her. They will miss her deeply and constantly for the remainder of their lives.

Laura possessed a creative spirit equally coupled with a gentle and sensitive soul. She remained humble about her many talents throughout her life. Her photographs of nature fully demonstrate Laura’s passion for any landscape: a barn scattered with hay, a horse grazing in a green pasture, a tangerine sunset; these are the small things that Laura noticed and found joy in.

Laura’s legacy is most clearly demonstrated in the love and compassion she had for animals of all kinds. She spent the entirety of her life comforting, rescuing, and enjoying their company. Laura owned and rescued dogs, cats, goats, chickens, birds, and even mice. There is a well-known story of Laura, as a young girl, sneaking around her house disabling mouse traps. Those were lucky mice to have crossed her path. One time, she tamed a feral cat named DaVinci and was afraid the cat would be harmed by a coyote outside; her solution was to lie in the yard at night, keeping the cat company, with a fishing net in one hand, trying to bring DaVinci safely inside.

Laura had other passions that rivaled her love of animals. She was an avid reader. As a young girl, she was a “frequent flyer” at the Newtown Library; her mother could barely keep up with her demand for a book in her hands.

Laura is survived by her parents Doug and Eileen (Maki) Frattaroli of Newtown. In addition, Laura leaves three siblings, a brother Michael of Newtown, CT, a brother Gregory of Boston, MA and a sister Julia of Stamford, CT, along with her grandfather, Richard Frattaroli of Stamford, CT, many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her beloved French bulldog, Dougie. Laura was predeceased in death by her grandparents Doug and Marie Maki, her grandmother Linda Frattaroli, her Aunt Karen Varian (Maki), her Uncles Shimmy Maki, and Johnny Maki.
