Laura Francis (Boots) Campbell, 85, died peacefully at home in Burlington, NC on January 2, 2017.
Laura was predeceased by her husband, Ed, in 1995. Surviving is her sister, Patricia, and her niece and three nephews.
Laura was born October 4, 1931 in Mullens, West Virginia to Maurice and Verna Francis. As the daughter of a Norfolk and Western Railroad employee, she moved around while growing up, living in Bluefield and Williamson, West Virginia, Portsmouth, Ohio, and Norfolk, Shenandoah and Roanoke, Virginia. After briefly attending nursing school, Laura settled into a long career of 35 years with General Electric. She met her husband, Ed, at GE while working in Roanoke, Virginia. She and Ed were reassigned to Burlington in 1974.
