Laura A. Hoekstra, age 80, of Grant Park, IL, passed away February 23, 2017 at River North Bradley Health & Rehab Center. She was born May 13, 1936 in DeMotte, IN, the daughter of Benjamin and Alice Klemp. Laura married Jacob H. Hoekstra on October 6, 1955.
Survivors include her husband Jacob, her daughter Marlene (Larry) Smith, and two sons, Robert (Carol) and Glenn (Jan) Hoekstra; her grandchildren: Jennifer Smith, Jeff (Heidi) Smith, Adam (Diane) Hoekstra and Calvin (Kaleigh) Hoekstra; her great-grandchild Benjamin Hoekstra, and two sisters Margaret (Mike) Zickmund and Elly (Dennis) Morros.
She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Alice Klemp. Mrs. Hoekstra was a member of the Momence Orthodox Presbyterian Church. She cleaned homes, offices and her home church for 30 years. She enjoyed mowing her lawn, taking care of her many flowers and being actively involved in the life of her church, family and many friends.
