Larry W. Mayfield, 70 of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Born in Morgantown, WV on July 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Alpha and Thelma (Varner) Mayfield.
He was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville, DE. Larry enjoyed baseball, old movies, music and horse racing. His favorite was spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by three daughters: Crista M. Sunderland (Jesse) of Elkton, MD, Michelle Rust of Millsboro, DE and Brandy Alley of Elkton, MD; grandson: Tyler McCall; granddaughter: Kayla McCall; great grandchildren: Gavin McCall and one on the way; three special great niece and nephews: Troy Hagedorn, Danyell Klingler and J.D. Hagedorn; as well as several nieces and nephews; sister: Cathy White (Eddie) of Morgantown, WV; brothers: Alpha Mayfield (Carolyn) of Canal Fulton, OH and Gary Mayfield (Charlotte) of Morgantown, WV.
In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his wife: Valeria Kay (Lewis) Mayfield; and sister: Marie Hagedorn.
