Larry Robbins age 77 of Metropolis, IL formerly of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, KY. Larry was born on August 2, 1939 in Beardstown, IL the son of Howard David Robbins and Pearl (Jones) Robbins. He married June Hart in 1959 and they later divorced.

He married Janet Hutton and they later divorced. Survivors include five daughters: Debra Mighell of Centralia, Nancy Potter and husband Phillip of Centralia, Christina Hegwood and husband Robbie of Centralia, Greta Robbins of Salem, and Vanessa Robbins of Centralia; two step-daughters: Angie Hutton Miller and husband Bruce of Centralia and Crystal Hutton of Oklahoma; one sister: Sandra Stuber and husband Ernest of Centralia; one brother: Donald Robbins and wife Diane of Centralia; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Howard and Pearl Robbins; three brothers: Melvin Robbins, Glenn Robbins and Burl Robbins; one sister: Verna Trieglaff. Larry was a member of the Weaver Creek Baptist Church in Metropolis. He was very active in the church. He was a former member of Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia. He enjoyed collecting Indian relics, hats and knives. He also enjoyed in his younger years lifting weights. He worked for Burlington Railroad for 43 years as a switch and brakemen conductor.  He loved spending time with his four-legged companion “Buddy” and his family and friends.
