Larry Lee Maxwell
Larry Lee Maxwell, 79, passed away Sunday evening, March 24th, at 6:50 p.m. in his home in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. He was surrounded by his children, his sister, his brother and his niece. He breathed his last breath peacefully while his daughters sang “How Great Thou Art.”
Larry was born August 6, 1933 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Naomi Ruth (Jones) Maxwell and Harry Taylor Maxwell and lived in Missouri. When Larry was two years old, his family moved to Gooding, Idaho. At the age of 13, he came to know Jesus as his personal Savior. Larry grew in the Lord and loved Him with all of his heart. From a young age, he knew that God had called him to the ministry.
He graduated from Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas where he met Betty Jean Mathews. They were married April 14, 1963, in Nampa, Idaho and were blessed with five children.
Larry enjoyed life. He loved to laugh and joke and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, wonderful dad, uncle, grandpa, pastor and friend to many. It is said among his friends that no matter where in the world you went you would find someone who knew Larry Maxwell.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his daughter, Angela, his father Harry Maxwell, his mother, Ruth Maxwell and his three brothers, Bill, Duane and Derrold.
Larry is survived by his brother, Roger Maxwell of Twin Falls, Idaho, his sister, Kathy Maxwell of Meridian, Idaho, his daughters, Shawna (Ken) Albert of Jeffersonville, Indiana, MarKay (Craig) Hickerson of Roswell, New Mexico, Rachelle (Timothy) Hidalgo of Richland, Washington, his son, Duane (Beth) Maxwell of Vancouver, Washington and 13 grandchildren.
