Larry LaRue Waterman Sept. 5, 1944 – June 22, 2015
Larry LaRue Waterman passed away at home on June 22, 2015 at the age of 70. He was born September 5, 1944 in Gates Mill, Ohio, He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Forman Waterman and Roland (Rod) Waterman and one brother, Dennis Waterman of Gates Mill, Ohio. He is survived by his one stepdaughter, Monica Magruder and husband Matt of Springfield, Illinois and one grandson, Beau (13). Larry attended Kent State University in Ohio in the early seventies. Then his career as a road manager in the music industry for several traveling bands began. Among these bands were Blood Sweat and Tears, Santana, The Blues Project and others. He also worked for many artists such as Richie Havens, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Walsh and many up-and-coming blues artist at the famed Café Au GoGo Club. He moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in his late twenties, working as a lobster fisherman and eventually moved to Illinois where he resided for 30 years. His love for animals, land and nature landed him a job at The Grove Wildlife preserve in Glenview, Illinois in the early 80’s. Then his work with home builders and remodelers launched his career and passion for extraordinary home remodeling. Larry was an avid photographer with a love and respect for waterfalls, old barns, sunsets and nature landscapes. His unique barn wood frames were a signature work of Mr. Waterman. He was a member of the Cleburne County Shutterbugs Photography Club and also contributed many works online with .
