Larry L. Kempher, age 75, of Rapid River, MI passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Abrazo Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona.
Larry was born August 15, 1941 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Richard and Lola Mae (Roberts) Kempher. He was a 1959 graduate of Industry High School in Industry, IL. Larry served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth May Duflo on July 9, 1966 in Newberry, Michigan. Larry was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone where he could often be seen mowing the lawn. He was also a member of the Rapid River American Legion Post 301. He enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona, working in old tractors, helping others and loved his dog, Molly.
Larry is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Rapid River; sons, Dennis (Melissa) Kempher of Gladstone and David (fiancee’ Daryn Harrington) Kempher of Lomira, WI; daughter, Ann (Jimmy) Dickson of Oconto Falls, WI; grandchildren, Richard and Hannah Kempher, Michaela and Carter Dickson and Alex Amaro; aunts, Wilma Wells and Edna Clark, both of Macomb, IL and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Milo and his sister, Nancy Waldemeier.
