Larry John Clark, 68, passed away surrounded by family and friends at the Chapin Center in Springfield, MA on Wednesday August 23, 2017. Better known to most family and friends as John he leaves behind his loving daughter Rita Johnson of Feeding Hills, his brother Robert Ward and wife Pat of Boston, sister Sandra Russo of Springfield, brother Gary Hackett and wife Cindy of Southwick and sister Shirley Garcia and husband Deiby of Chicopee. Deiby was considered by John to be another brother. John was predeceased by his parents and a sister Louise Merchant of Springfield. John was grandfather to Christopher, Chloe and Seth. In his extended family John leaves his four nephews Christopher, David, John, and Robert as well as his three nieces Leah, Nina and Kristen. He also has several grandnephews and grandnieces. John had a lifelong best friend in the person of George O’Brien of Springfield. John will be missed by his family as well as his special friends at the Chapin Center Kim, Jeannie and Shirley. The family wishes to thank the nurses, aides and staff at the center and in particular his nurse Julie. He has entrusted his precious friend, companion and cat Rascal to his sister. John was a lover of dogs and had as his companions two German Shepherds, Bo and Tumont who he loved a great deal. By trade and profession John was a carpenter and painter. He was also an avid sports fan. He loved the Boston Red Sox and was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins. He would spend many of his evenings enjoying a game.  For his pastimes John enjoyed fishing and competing in turkey shoots. He was once a member of the board of directors of the local sportsman’s club.
